Finding sample job descriptions

Start with the popular online job search websites, such as:

The Encyclopedia of Careers and Vocational Guidance does not have actual job descriptions, but it gives a general idea of the skills and qualifications required for various careers:

You can also consult the website WorkinginCanada. 

Researching companies

There is a Company Research subject guide, but the best resource for finding companies in Canada is Mergent Online. Select the tabl 'D&B 20M Private Company database'. You can then run a search by country, city, or industry.

If you are researching a public company, search on the main landing page.  

Finding people with specific job titles

A good resource for looking up people with specific job titles is LinkedIn. Do a "people search" for the job title, and it should return a list of all the people who have that title and also have LinkedIn profiles:
