RESOLVED: Issues with print holdings in the McGill WorldCat catalogue

Published: 7 June 2016

Update, June 14, 2016: Technical issues with the display of the physical holdings in the McGill WorldCat catalogue have been resolved. Call numbers, locations and loan information should now display correctly for print items held by the Library.

We are currently experiencing issues with the display of holdings and loan information for non-electronic items (print books, DVDs, CDs, etc.) in the McGill WorldCat catalogue. Please check the Classic Catalogue to confirm the location, call number and availability information for physical items.

Library staff and McGill IT are working to fix technical issues that cause call numbers, locations and loan information to display inconsistently for non-electronic resources. Clicking on “Availability” in the brief view often brings up the message, “Check detailed record for more information”, and the full record displays the message, “We were unable to get availability information for this item. Please check at the circulation desk for assistance.” In the meantime, if these messages are encountered in WorldCat, up-to-date information for physical items may be found in the Classic Catalogue.

We apologize for any inconvenience while we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
