Life Sciences reserves and services moved to Osler Library of the History of Medicine

On December 1, 2015, the Life Sciences Library Service Point was relocated to the Osler Library of the History of Medicine (still on the 3rd floor of McIntyre Medical Building). Loans services, including course reserves, are now available from Osler Library. Please note, however, that course reserves materials for Nursing have been moved to Schulich Library of Science and Engineering.

Christopher Lyons, Head of Osler Library of the History of Medicine, named Osler Librarian

The McGill Library and Archives is proud to announce that Christopher Lyons, the current Head of the Osler Library of the History of the Medicine, has received the prestigious title of Osler Librarian after a unanimous vote of endorsement by the Board of Curators.

RESOLVED: Several Libary web sites and digital collections currently unavailable

Update: Friday, November 20 at 9:40 AM - The issues with the Library's secondary sites and digitial collections have been resolved. All sites and services are accessible and functioning normally. Thank you for your patience!

Update: 10:37 AM - Access to some of the Library's secondary sites and digital collections has been restored. We continue to work on the issue and hope to have access fully restored soon.

On December 1, 2015, Life Sciences reserves and services will be moving to the Osler Library of the History of Medicine

  • Life Sciences Librarians will have service hours
  • Students can continue to request inter-library loans and inter-branch delivery to the Osler Library

The Osler Library of the History of Medicine is located in the McIntyre Medical Building, 3rd floor - 3655 Promenade Sir William Osler Montreal, Quebec H3G 1Y6. Click here for a map.

Log into Books24x7 e-books with your McGill username and password

As of today, November 3, 2015, when you access a Books24x7 e-book through WorldCat Local or from a link on the Library web site, you'll be able to access the e-book simply by logging in with your McGill username (email address) and password.

You will no longer need to create or use a separate Books24x7 account to access these e-books.

New Redpath washrooms closed Oct. 30 until Nov. 2

The new washrooms on the 1st floor of the Redpath Library Building will be closed from 7am Friday, October 30 until 7am Monday, November 2. Contractors will be making adjustments to the space during this time.

Additional washrooms are available below the main McLennan entrance and on the Cyberthèque floor, next to the café.
