Please join us for a talk by Pakistani litigator, Mr. Faisal Siddiqi (LSE—BSc Sociology 1998; Cambridge—BA Law & MA 2000), on “Pakistan and Islamist Militancy: A Lawyer’s View”.

Mr. Siddiqi is currently an O’Brien Fellow in Residence at the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism at the McGill Faculty of Law.

In Fall 2015, he was a fellow at the LSE Centre for the Study of Human Rights. Mr. Siddiqi is a former advisor to the Attorney General for Pakistan (2013-2014) and was actively involved in the movement to restore judges unconstitutionally suspended and removed by the former military government (2007-2009).

Aside from a general commercial practice, notably in the areas of contract, pharmaceutical regulation, and tax, Mr. Siddiqi litigates pro bono cases involving issues of labour rights, sexual assault, and environmental rights.

This event is organized in collaboration with the Canadian Friends of London School of Economics, Montreal Committee.
