Decriminalizing HIV non-disclosure: Disentangling stigma and marginalization from Canadian criminal law

The Outlaw at McGill and Criminal Law McGill student groups are proud to present a panel discussion on decriminalizing HIV non-disclosure in Canada.

Panelists from various backgrounds will introduce the state of criminalization of HIV non-disclosure in Canada and discuss the avenues of decriminalization, the challenges and benefits of these avenues, and the effects of potential changes to marginalized groups.

Among our panelists are Alexander McClelland, who is pursuing a PhD from Concordia University and researches the intersection of life, law, and disease; Florence Paré, who is a graduate law student, transgender advocate, and researcher; and Jeansil Byère, who is a law graduate and the Executive Director of AIDS Community Care Montréal.
