Attendance

Students are expected to attend class on a regular basis. This applies to all law school courses.

Individual courses may have more specific attendance policies, which must be followed. It is the student's responsibility to consult the Class Schedule on Minerva. For Clinical Legal Education experiences, punctual attendance is required throughout.

Absences are only excused in exceptional circumstances. Unjustifiable absences may result in a failure.

The following are reasons that will not be considered a justifiable absence:

  • Employment reasons
  • Travel/vacation/social plans
  • Airline flights and schedules

Students should not accept significant outside obligations during the academic term.

Students who are absent for more than two weeks due to illness or personal circumstances must inform the Student Affairs Office, as soon as possible, and provide supporting documentation.

The Faculty of Law makes accommodations for religious holidays; see the Policy Regarding Classes Scheduled on Religious Holy Days.
