Thank you very much for your interest in Jewish Studies at McGill.
The Department of Jewish Studies offers both thesis and non-thesis M.A. Programs. The thesis option is intended for students interested in the following areas: Eastern European History, Jewish Thought, Modern Jewish Literature, Hebrew Literature and History of Jewish Interpretation of the Bible. These areas are broadly construed to accommodate the range of research interests in the Department. The non‑thesis program permits students to acquire a generalist degree in Jewish Studies with advanced work in the areas of Jewish History, Jewish Thought and Jewish Literature.
If it is possible, I should welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your plans and to try to answer any questions you might have. Please feel free to call me at 398-6544 to schedule an appointment or write to me at: eric [dot] caplan [at] mcgill [dot] ca (Eric Caplan)
