Service overview

Polling @ McGill (formerly Student Response System or SRS) is a technology-supported questioning strategy to assess students’ learning and encourage active classroom participation. At McGill, we are using a web-based student response system, called Slido, During a course lecture with polling questions, students will use Slido to respond from their personal device (smartphone, tablet or laptop).


Who can use it

Polling @ McGill is primarily for teaching and learning.


How to request, access the service

Instructors

Register your full-feature account:

  1. Go to the www.mcgill.ca/polling and click on “Register Your Account”.
  2. Sign in with your McGill Username and McGill Password.

Students

Before class, you need to register your account. You only need to do this one time.


Non-academic use of polling

Note that Slido is only for teaching and learning. We recommend staff to use our equivalent polling system:


Cost

Instructors:
There is no cost to instructors.

Students:
There is no cost to students.


Availability

This service is available at all times on campus using McGill’s Wi-Fi.

The service is available 24 X 7, except during planned maintenance or outages, which will be posted on the IT Services website.
