News
As you may know, in March 2012, McGill launched its new myCourses learning management system, and we have now successfully delivered both Summer and Fall 2012 terms in the new system.
As of January 31, 2013, we will begin to phase out the old WebCT system, given that the vendor will no longer support it. However, it is important to note that students and instructors will still be able to access their courses in WebCT in the following ways:
- Request access to WebCT to review student data from the 2008 - 2012 academic years. Details below.
- Request course migration from WebCT (2006 - 2011) to myCourses. Details below.
Request access to WebCT: Student Data
Students and instructors who submit a WebCT Access Request webform will be granted access to WebCT for a period of 7 days, for WebCT courses offered from 2008-2012. This access is primarily for the purpose of accessing student data (student grades, student submissions in discussions, assignments, etc.) and may be requested based on the schedule below
| During the following Academic Years | WebCT courses from these years may be accessed for 7 days |
| 2012-2013 | 2008-2012 |
| 2013-2014 | 2009-2012 |
| 2014-2015 | 2010-2012 |
| 2015-2016 | 2011-2012 |
Request a course migration: Content only
Instructors can also submit a Course Migration Request webform to request migration of course content from WebCT courses offered from 2006 to 2011 into the new myCourses environment. Course migration does not include student data (such as student grades, student submissions in assignments, discussions, etc.) If you wish to review student data from WebCT courses, use the WebCT Access Request webform described above.
Notes:
- Instructors should not make changes to course content in WebCT, as these changes will not be reflected in the migrated version.
- All courses in WebCT 2006-2011 will be archived and remain available for retrieval until the end of the 2016-2017 academic year.
