As of December 28th, McGill's license of Virus Barrier X (5 & 6) will expire. Replacing it is a new product, Trend Micro's Smart Surfing for Mac. Its features include antivirus, antispyware and web threat protection; additionally, it has built in parental controls, a spam blocker and a two-way firewall.
As this is a new product offered by Trend Micro, a special build was created for McGill that is valid for one year from the time it is activated.
While current Virus Barrier X users will be protected against internet threats until December 28th, we recommend uninstalling it and installing Smart Surfing for Mac at your earliest convenience.
- Uninstall VirusBarrier X for Mac
- Install Trend Smart Surfing for Mac
Note: Please follow the installation instructions closely. You MUST select Start a free trial of Trend Smart Surfing during the install process.
