Status update (12:50 pm, Jan 4, 2011):
The problems affecting the portal are due to the extremely high number of connections on the first day of classes, which exceed the maximum allowed by the Banner/Minerva database. It will be resolved by increasing the number of connections permitted; this will require a restart of the Banner/Minerva database and will be performed tonight at around 10:00 pm.
