Critical update for Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) browser

Published: 18 Dec 2008

Microsoft has released a non-scheduled security update for a critical vulnerability in the Internet Explorer (IE) browser.

It is recommended that you install this security patch immediately and then reboot your computer for the patch to take effect.

For office computers: The Microsoft security patch will automatically be pushed to all centrally managed Windows clients at the next scheduled interval.

Unmanaged systems: Should manually download and install the update via Microsoft Windows Updates.

For computers off campus or home: If your Windows is not set to automatically update for system patching, you should manually download and install the update via Microsoft Windows Updates.
