Change to the behaviour of the drop-down menus on the McGill home page

Published: 29 Jan 2008

The behaviour of the drop-down menus on the McGill home page has been revised to allow users to go directly to a linked website without clicking on the "go" arrow first.

This change will affect all users with javascript enabled. However, for users who have disabled javascript, the "go" arrow will continue to function as before, requiring them to click the button before they can go to the selected site.

Also, in some situations, the "go" arrows will be necessary for many other users. Depending on their browser's cache settings, the last selection users make will persist when they click on the browser's "back" button to go back to the home page. The "go" arrow is the only way then to reload that particular page choice. Any other selection will take a user directly to the newly selected location.
