The icon for Microsoft Teams has been added to the Office 365 waffle menu. Unfortunately, Microsoft Teams is not yet available for the educational market, so if you select this icon you will see a message indicating that you do not have access. It is unknown at this time whether Teams will be made available under McGill's license. We thank you for your understanding.

There is a phishing email circulating to users with the subject "1 New Message". This email prompts users to renew their McGill account information in order not to lose access to their email services. Users are asked to click on a fraudulent link to update their account information. See an example of this phishing message below.

Enhanced security on McGill Network
For the continual improvement to our network service, and to meet McGill’s evolving administrative and research security requirements, McGill IT Services will be increasing network filtering focused on threat protection. This increased security measure will restrict access to the following services, such that they may only be accessed from an authenticated VPN connection or from the McGill internal network:

RESOLVED: Wired and wireless network unavailable at University Centre (Shatner) and McTavish buildings
Network access was restored in Peterson Hall, University Centre and other buildings on McTavish, as of early Tuesday morning, March 7.
Update - Monday, March 6, 2017 at 4:30 pm IT services has placed a battery in Peterson Hall to provide network access in the affected buildings until around 8:00 pm this evening. Tomorrow, when power in the University Centre is restored, netowrk connectivity should return to normal.
