We are currently experiencing problems relaying mail to Videotron email addresses. You may experience delays in your email being delivered to a Videotron email address. This problem started on Monday, April 6, 2015; we are investigating and hopefully will resolve it shortly. Further updates will be posted here.

Educating computer users on the consequences of phishing is a challenge, especially since cybercriminals develop more sophisticated-looking emails and schemes every day. We’re all incredibly busy and bombarded with emails; even the most tech-savvy among us have fallen into their trap.Last week, IT Services phished all faculty and staff members of the McGill community. Yesterday, March 11, they did it again. Some people ask why is this necessary?
As of March 16, 2015, the Web VPN service will only be available to access archived online courses in WebCT (Fall 2010 to Winter 2012).
Current students, faculty and staff can access Library e-resources via wireless network when on campus, and directly from the web browser via EZProxy or via McGill's VPN when off-campus.
Alumni, who cannot use the McGill VPN, are now able to access a subset of Library e-resources directly from your web browser by signing in wit
As part of an ongoing effort to streamline services, the McGill Password Security Questions (PSS) tool was decommissioned on Monday, February 23. While this tool was initially launched with the goal of providing additional security questions and password reset functionality to our end-users, it essentially duplicated options that were already available in Minerva and caused user confusion.
Periodically, IT Services will send out mock phishing emails to the McGill community as part of a proactive approach to increase awareness of the dangers of phishing. Users who click on a link in one of these emails will be redirected to a page informing them that they have participated in a phishing awareness exercise, and will be encouraged to learn how to identify and avoid falling victim to these types of scams.

Now it is also available to students via the McGill Software site (www.mcgill.ca/software).
As of Monday, February 16, 2015, access to McGill Library e-resources from off campus will end for all ineligible McGill affiliates. The Library's license agreements for electronic resources generally only cover off-campus access for current McGill students, faculty and staff.
In July 2013, in an effort to comply with licensing agreements for electronic content, the McGill Library began a process of analyzing McGill user and affiliated accounts to ensure that only eligible users were able to access the Library’s e-resources. This work has now been completed.
A phishing attempt is circulating with the subject line "RE: ITSUPPORT". The message says that your email will be blocked and you are advised to verify your email account by clicking on a fraudulent website. A sample of the email is shown below.
Please DO NOT click on the link. Delete this email immediately! It does NOT come from a McGill source.
It is a fraudulent attempt to gain access to your personal information. McGill never solicits any such information by email.
