Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) available from Microsoft

Wed, 2006-11-01 08:30

Starting November 1, 2006, Internet Explorer version 7 (IE7) will be available for download directly from Microsoft. Normally, upgrade software is distributed automatically to the McGill community by NCS via the Central McGill WSUS system. However, due to the possibility that some web-based applications do not yet support IE7, NCS does not plan to release IE7 for automatic distribution.

Archive of Winter 2005 courses on WebCT CE on May 1

Mon, 2006-05-01 10:00

In order to optimize our server resources, on Monday, May 1, at 5 pm we will archive all Winter 2005 courses, move the Winter 2005 semester offline and remove it from your myWebCT. All your course data will be preserved in this archive and all other semesters will remain unaffected. This will require no action on your part. As an instructor or course designer, if you require access to your Winter 2005 courses in the future, you should contact ICS Customer Support with your McGill ID and the full Course number, Section number and CRN (Example: ABCD-123-001 - 9876) of the Winter 2005 course. Your course content will be brought back online within 6 hours of the request being made.

Online student directory

Thu, 2005-06-30 12:00

A new online Student Directory is now available by clicking on the "Student directory" link at the top right of the McGill home page (and coming to a McGill web page near you within the next week or so). Inclusion in this directory is at the student's discretion (by default you are not included). If you are a student and you want to appear in this directory, you must log in to Minerva, go to the "Student Menu," click on "Student Directory" and choose the email address and/or a phone number to publish. You can also decide who can see your information: the world (everyone) or only the McGill community (those who first log in with McGill credentials). You can make it easier for your fellow students and colleagues to contact you by opting in to the Student Directory. Encourage others to opt in as well. The more students participate, the more effective the directory will be.
