Starting today, users of all McGill systems will notice small modifications on the Reports Menu. Student Information System users will see the greatest changes.
Our Internet service provider was experiencing problems on their network yesterday afternoon, which was subsequently causing Internet connectivity problems within the McGill community yesterday afternoon. These problems have since been resolved and full Internet service should be back to normal.
There are intermittent problems at Solin Hall to both wireless and wired connectivity.
Please note that due to technical problems, email sent to first [dot] last [at] mail [dot] mcgill [dot] ca and first [dot] last [at] mcgill [dot] ca was bounced back to their original senders for some Exchange users (not students) on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, from approximately 15h00 to 18h30, at which point all mail delivery into and out of the University using the NCS email servers was stopped, queued and then delivered once the system was restored at 20h30. Mail within Exchange continued to work normally during this period.
Please note that the Wireless NetConnect dialer for Windows will be unavailable for download until the afternoon of Monday, August 28, due to an upgrade. Until then, new users can connect to the McGill wireless network via a Web-based login. Instructions on how to do this can be found online on the Wireless web page. Existing NetConnect users are unaffected and can still connect to the McGill wireless network via their current NetConnect dialer for Windows.
Since the Webmail upgrade on January 29, we have been experiencing problems. Most of the major issues have been resolved. We are currently making small modifications and hope to have all the issues resolved shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Please note that the Reggie IT service account manager will be unavailable on Saturday, February 19, 2005 from 09h00 to 17h00 due to an upgrade. Affected functions include changing passwords, as well as viewing and/or changing account information, payment information, email address information and UEA redirection. VPN, DAS and wireless access may experience intermittent authentication errors -- please try reconnecting after a short wait should this occur. All other functions including email access should remain intact. CFI WebTools and other Web services such as Elms, Drama and the Guest Network Account creation program will also be unavailable during this period. During the weekend, any persistent and urgent problems should be reported to 514-398-3699.
Human Resources and the Office of the CIO would like to announce a change in plans regarding this year's move from the Present attendance system to the new Banner Web Time Entry application. For the coming fiscal year (2008-09), we will be piloting the new Banner system with a limited scope of 400 staff in IT and HR units. Other departments that have been using Present may continue to do so until the new Banner system is fully operational, in June 2009.
Please note that the McGill University Central Software Distribution site (ELMS e-academy) will be unavailable for two hours on Sunday, June 17, 2007, between 08h00 and 21h00, due to an upgrade.
