The Puremessage antispam system will be updated this Saturday, Dec. 8, at approximately 6:00 am. Consequently, the web user interface (https://yourspam.mcgill.ca) will be unavailable for about 30 minutes.
Please note that there will be a slowdown in network service (1 Gbps down to 155 Mbps) at Macdonald campus on Saturday, March 24, 2007 (tomorrow), between 18h00 and 19h00, due to system maintenance.
The server for Crystal Reports Server edition and POPS is now fully operational with no loss of data.
Internet Native Banner (INB) is now available.
Some of the main telephone numbers are not working due to a technical problem with the McGill telephone system. We are working on resolving this problem.
Please note that the McGill Software Licensing Site (ELMS) is currently not accepting payments (credit card or FOAPAL). Technicians are working to resolve the issue. Additional details will be posted here when we have more information.

Hoax email warns of cellphone telemarketing: An email circulating on the Net warns that massive telemarketing to cellphones is about to begin, so cellphone users should register with the Do Not Call registry. This message is a hoax: please don't pass it on! There is no Do Not Call registry in Canada: a bill to create one was passed by Parliament in December, but it has not yet been proclaimed.
Because of multiple virus infected and/or compromised machines connecting on McGill's VPN, and sending viruses and spam through the anti-spam gateway, access to port 25 has been blocked from the following subnet to the mx.mcgill.ca gateway: 188.8.131.52/24. All machines on the McGill network should be sending mail through mailhost.mcgill.ca as their smtp server.
Access to the student personal drive ("P" drive) is currently unavailable.
