McGill's Software Licensing site (www.mcgill.ca/software) will undergo a scheduled maintenance operation on Tuesday, November 25, between 7 - 9am. The system will be unavailable during this period. 

The Software Licensing site is part of McGill's campus software program, providing easy access to centrally licensed software used in teaching, research and administration at the University.

A fraudulent email is circulating with the subject line: "Internal ONLY". It has a ZIP file attachment that contains a trojan malware.  

Please DO NOT open the attached ZIP file. Delete this email immediately!

VPN maintenance downtime - Tuesday morning, November 11, 7am

A maintenance operation will be performed on the VPN server for securevpn.mcgill.ca on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, from 7:00 to 7:15 am.  During this period, there will be a 5-minute downtime for VPN access. Any VPN connections in process at that time will be disconnected.

Changes to the look & feel of Office 2013 for faculty & staff

In preparation for the offering of MS Office 365 ProPlus to McGill Faculty and Staff later this year, IT Services performed a maintenance of our Microsoft Office Server infrastructure this past weekend, October 31 to November 2.

As a result, Faculty and Staff users of Office 2013 on McGill computers will have noticed changes to the look and feel of Office 2013.

In this workshop we will explore strategies to enhance students’ engagement, promote dialogue, and encourage deep learning. We will discuss the rationale for active and collaborative learning and examine methods for design and implementation in different types of courses. During the workshop you will experience a range of new strategies through demonstrations and peer sharing, and develop a plan to incorporate selected strategies into your courses.
