On Thursday, at around 11:30 am, we encountered a problem with some of our network switches, which are connected to several central servers. When the switches were rebooted, connectivity to the servers was lost, and this may have prevented some users from accessing their emails and network files. The servers and their associated services were restored to normal by 12:15 pm. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.
The University web portal (myMcGill) will continue to experience short interruptions of service for another couple of days.
Class Photos on Minerva will not be available for the remainder of the day due to technical difficulties.
EVault central email storage services will be temporarily interrupted for maintenance on Monday and Tuesday mornings. These interruptions should last for a period of 2-3 minutes each. See "Details" for exact schedule.
Starting November 1, 2006, Internet Explorer version 7 (IE7) will be available for download directly from Microsoft. Normally, upgrade software is distributed automatically to the McGill community by NCS via the Central McGill WSUS system. However, due to the possibility that some web-based applications do not yet support IE7, NCS does not plan to release IE7 for automatic distribution.

MUSE, McGill Libraries' online catalogue, is now available without interruption from early Sunday morning at 7:00 am until after midnight on the following Saturday (Sunday at 1:00 am). Night owls and our users around the world will have complete access to all McGill Libraries' online research tools, including the link from Find It McGill to MUSE and our online journals virtually 24 x 7!
