For owners of Gateway computers, the contact information as posted on the computer's asset tag has changed.
Please note that the Reggie IT service account manager will be unavailable on Saturday, February 19, 2005 from 09h00 to 17h00 due to an upgrade. Affected functions include changing passwords, as well as viewing and/or changing account information, payment information, email address information and UEA redirection. VPN, DAS and wireless access may experience intermittent authentication errors -- please try reconnecting after a short wait should this occur. All other functions including email access should remain intact. CFI WebTools and other Web services such as Elms, Drama and the Guest Network Account creation program will also be unavailable during this period. During the weekend, any persistent and urgent problems should be reported to 514-398-3699.
The "Faculty Courses" portlet on myMcGill is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance.
The STAFF email server will be decommissioned and unavailable as of Friday, June 1, 2007.
The phone problem that occurred last Friday due to a water-damaged cable is still not resolved. We hope by the end of the day service will be back to normal. Buildings affected include: McLennan Library, Redpath Library, Redpath Museum, Leacock Building, Peterson Hall, Student Services Building, 3434 McTavish, Faculty Club, McGill Bookstore and Bronfman Building. Elevator phones have been automatically dialing the security office. Sporadic users in other buildings may also be affected.
An online directory of McGill students is now available. It features public pages that are viewable by anyone as well as community pages that are viewable by the McGill community only. Students choose via Minerva which type of page will house their contact information, or if any of their contact information will be put on McGill web pages at all (the default setting for each student is "do not publish"). Information chosen to be published is accessed on the McGill University student directory page.
Due to the opening of Fall registration for returning students, Banner/Minerva is slower than usual. Service should return to normal later this morning.
Please be advised that on Saturday, February 23, 2008, NCS will be performing some maintenance on the telephone system affecting all campus. The maintenance will occur between Saturday, February 23, 8:00 am, and Sunday, February 24, 12:00 am. During this period only the phones connected to the emergency telephone system and those from the MNI/MNH will be fully operational.
