The cause of the failure of WebCT Vista at approximately 4:30 pm, April 12, has been identified and corrected. Services were restored by 10:50 pm. We do not anticipate that the problem will recur. If it does it can be corrected quickly. The WebCT Vista support team will be monitoring the performance of the system to ensure consistent and reliable service during the exam period. Once again we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.
The University web portal (myMcGill) will continue to experience short interruptions of service for another couple of days.
An upgrade to the anti-virus application known as Scanmail for Exchange will be done Sunday, February 19, between 12h00 and 13h00.
The File and Printer server in the Faculty of Management is currently down. Users cannot access their files on the I: drive and cannot print. We will update you as more information becomes available.
The News.McGill.ca server, providing Usenet News services, is currently unavailable. We are investigating the problem.
As previously announced, all McGill students now have free unlimited access to all McGill wireless network access points across both McGill University campuses!
