Please note that the My CallPilot unified messaging service (http://mycallpilot.mcgill.ca) will be unavailable on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, from 08h00 to 10h00, due to an upgrade. The CallPilot voice messaging system is not affected and will continue to function.
Users may experience errors this afternoon when logging in to Minerva. You may see an error screen or information that suggests you are not authorized to access the system. We are investigating the occurrence of these errors and ask that users be patient. Updates to follow.
We are currently experiencing problems with the Exchange server. If you use Exchange, you will not be able to send or receive email messages at this time.
Virus infected machines affected our email servers yesterday, causing an overload and delay in email delivery. If you were expecting some important email, and you have not received it yet, please contact the person to have them send it to you again.
Because of multiple virus infected and/or compromised machines connecting on McGill's VPN, and sending viruses and spam through the anti-spam gateway, access to port 25 has been blocked from the following subnet to the mx.mcgill.ca gateway: 22.214.171.124/24. All machines on the McGill network should be sending mail through mailhost.mcgill.ca as their smtp server.
Beginning on February 20, 2008, McGill staff email addresses ending in @mcgill.ca will be automatically filtered for spam using the McGill Anti-Spam Quarantine system, and subscribed to receive the daily quarantine digest. See "Details" for more information.
Installation of the latest security patches from Microsoft and updates to the web server will take place at 7:30 am on Monday, July 16, 2007. This will affect service to the network file server. During this time you may experience intermittent interruptions accessing files on your network drives, including the P: and R: drives.
If you are responsible for querying or updating Admissions or Student Records using the forms SAAADMS, SGASTDN, SFAREGS or SHADEGR there are now important information sessions to attend.
Please note that the REGGIE IT Services Account manager, CallCentre, CFI WebTools and other Web services such as ELMS and Guest Network Account creation will be unavailable from Saturday, April 29, at 10:00 pm to Sunday, April 30, at 10:00 am, due to an upgrade.
