On Thursday, at around 11:30 am, we encountered a problem with some of our network switches, which are connected to several central servers. When the switches were rebooted, connectivity to the servers was lost, and this may have prevented some users from accessing their emails and network files. The servers and their associated services were restored to normal by 12:15 pm. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.
The University web portal (myMcGill) will continue to experience short interruptions of service for another couple of days.
Class Photos on Minerva will not be available for the remainder of the day due to technical difficulties.
On November 4, 2007, we will switch back to standard time. Microsoft Outlook users should pay extra attention to meetings and appointments scheduled between October 28 and November 4, 2007.
Minerva and Banner interfaces will be unavailable from 5 pm, Friday, November 10, to 9 am, Monday, November 13, for purposes of an upgrade to version 7. ICS will be following the upgrade to provide necessary information.
