NCS IST Security will OPEN restrictions currently set on the Banner Proxy Server (Windows) on Tuesday, February 22, at 08h30. The change is being performed to resolve an intermittent slow connectivity problem that is being experienced by some NetWare clients who use Banner. Although we do not anticipate any problems as a result of the change, ICS Customer Support has been notified and are prepared to report any abnormalities to NCS.
We are currently experiencing issues trying to send emails to the mailserver for all jgh.mcgill.ca sub-domains. The issue is not on the McGill server but on the other server's end. There is nothing McGill can do except to continue to try to deliver the email for the standard 5-day period, at which time it will bounce if still undeliverable.
Please note that the CallPilot voice messaging system will be unavailable tonight, Thursday, June 7, from 17h00 to 18h00, due to system maintenance.
All McGill students now have free unlimited access to all McGill wireless network access points across both McGill University campuses!
Please note that VPN access will be unavailable Thursday, April 6, from 6:00 am to 6:15 am, due to an upgrade. VPN sessions already in progress should not be affected. Those experiencing authentication errors should try reconnecting after the scheduled interruption.
Minerva will be unavailable at 5 pm on Friday, May 6, for a period of about 15 minutes. We appreciate your patience.
As of Feb. 20, 2008, most McGill staff email addresses ending in @mcgill.ca have been automatically opted into the McGill Anti-Spam Quarantine system, and users have been subscribed to receive the daily quarantine digest. Note that if you previously opted out of the Quarantine system, you were NOT affected by this change. See "Details" for more information.
The 2007-2008 Strategic Plan explains McGill's current opportunities and challenges in information technology services offered by central IT units. This plan continues the agenda for IT initiatives on campus.
