Welcome to ISEAD !

McGill University has established the Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (ISEAD), an interdisciplinary endeavour with interest and expertise in a wide range of environmental and sustainability issues, that will harness the full potential of the many excellent, but disparate teaching and research activities related to these domains.
The Institute is based in the Faculty of Engineering, where more than 35 Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning faculty members are engaged in projects related to sustainable materials, sustainable supply chain management, urban infrastructure planning, life cycle engineering and many others.
The new Institute will be the driving force that propels McGill to the forefront of teaching, training and research related to sustainability. Among its ambitious plans are the creation of new courses and programs focused on sustainability principles and practices; undergraduate design projects and internships with industry, and an ISEAD summer school program targeted at both students and industry and government employees.
