Jacques Lacan and his Ecrits: an introduction
The purpose of our reading group is to provide an introduction to Jacques Lacan's psychoanalysis. Lacan's psychoanalysis and especially the collection of his Écrits have the reputation of being impenetrable. As we shall see, the opposite is true. When sequenced correctly, the Écrits provide the key to Lacan's thought. We will benefit from the expertise of the École lacanienne de Montréal, whose members will participate in our group, including its chairperson Jean-Paul Gilson, who knew Lacan personally and is one of the few Lacanian psychoanalysts to have completed Lacan's "passe".
