Mandatory for all international students
In addition to having a valid passport, all non-Canadians coming to McGill for a program that is 6 months or longer* must obtain a:
Certificate of Acceptance of Quebec (CAQ)
authorization to live and study in Quebec, issued by Immigration Quebec
authorization to live and study in Canada, issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada
* Students enrolled in programs shorter than 6 months (e.g. 1-term exchanges) do not need a CAQ and Study Permit; they can come to McGill as Visitors.

Mandatory for some international students
Students from certain countries must undergo a medical examination if they intend to remain in Canada for six months or more.
Citizens of certain countries will be required to submit biometric data - see the list of countries and instructions here.
Minors - students who are younger than 18 years old when they arrive in Canada - must have a legal custodian.
Students in programs of study with mandatory co-op or internship terms must obtain a Co-op/Internship Work Permit (along with their Study Permit).
