International Student Orientation events are open to NEW McGill international undergraduate, graduate, and exchange students starting in January 2018.

At Meet & Greet you can:

  • Chill (or, rather, keep warm!) with other new international students
  • Enjoy free refreshments & snacks
  • Get advice and referrals from returning students
  • Find tips for navigating McGill and Montreal
  • Write a postcard to your family - and we'll mail it for you!
  • Stay for as little - or as long - as you'd like...

Fill up on information and a warm meal in great company. 

This event will provide you with 

  • an overview of what you need to know as an international student at McGill;
  • a hearty Canadian brunch;
  • an opportunity to connect with other new international students starting in January!

Learn about learning!

Whoa, meta. Attend a session on Academic Culture for International Students to deepen your understanding of academic culture in Canada (and specifically at McGill) before classes even start. We'll address cultural differences - and similarities - and how they impact your actions and reactions both inside and outside the classroom.

Sink your teeth into your new city!

Each Bitesize MTL excursion will give you a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the flavor of Montreal, enjoying local specialities while exploring the city. 

Join us this year for the first ever Winter Bitesize excursions - Bitesize Underground! - where you will learn to navigate Montreal's famous "Underground City" or "Réso" a network of tunnels and passageways that snakes around more than 20 miles of the downtown core. Thanks to your Bitesize guides, you'll learn to find your way around this giant maze like a local.

The Réso in numbers: 2000 businesses, 190 points of entry, 63 interconnected buildings, 17 museums nearby, 10 university buildings, 8 metro stations, and 500,000 visitors/users per year.
