In order to obtain or renew your federal Study Permit, you must first have a valid passport and valid CAQ. You will be required to send a photocopy of the CAQ as part of your application for your Study Permit to Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
If your CAQ and your Study permit are both about to expire, you must take the necessary steps to renew them immediately. You should start the process at least two to three months prior to the expiry date, beginning with the renewal of your CAQ.
