Citizenship and Immigration Canada advises that it is experiencing a labour dispute and that anyone applying for a study permit should anticipate delays and submit their application as far in advance as possible.

June 11, 2013 — The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) union is currently taking strike action. PAFSO union members responsible for processing visa applications have been walking out of offices in Canada and overseas.

1) Learn some of the legal considerations of work in Canada as an international student.
2) Identify the primary job search steps involved in obtaining a part-time or summer job.
3) Understand the importance of, and define what is involved in, networking.
4) Identify at least 3 leads of opportunities on and off campus.
For students on the Macdonald Campus in the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, you will have your orientation event also on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 5:30 to 7:00 in the Centennial Centre, room CC 1-163 on the Macdonald Campus. No registration required.
