Under the leadership of Dr Amal Bessissow, subspecialty GIM residents are training in the peri-operative environment on dedicated rotations in peri-operative medicine clinics in the five McGill University GIM hospital sites. High-risk patients going for surgeries are provided dedicated pre-op evaluation and post-op follow-up. Systems are being developed to follow these patients in the hospital and in clinics once discharged.
A multi-disciplinary journal club is given once a month.
