What is McGill Innovation Week?
McGill’s Innovation week (MIW) was created in 2013. It is an opportunity to raise awareness regarding McGill’s activities surrounding innovation and entrepreneurship on campus as well as to reach out to various communities, student associations and internal stakeholders. Under the leadership of the office of Innovation and partnerships, MIW is a chance to showcase innovation as an economic driver and demonstrate how people can work together to create new and exciting things.
In November 2015, McGill Innovation Week included 19 activities and drew in over 1,500 participants, generating a lot of positive feedback. McGill Innovation Week 2016 will be held between November 13th and 19th and promises to be more engaging and have more student-led events than ever before. A large number of this year’s participating groups have also decided to focus their events on issues related to innovation, commercialisation, entrepreneurship in music and many other fields, urban planning, education or the future of health.
