The Burma Solidarity Collective (Free Burma Coalition) is a student group under SSMU that works towards human rights and democracy in Burma. We are currently working on a campaign to have McGill adopt a selective purchasing policy with regards to companies that cooperate with the Burmese military regime. We also support groups along the Thai-Burma border that provide for the needs of Burmese refugees and who work for human rights and democracy in Burma, and organize events such as lectures to raise awareness on these issues.
