The Montreal Institute for Research on Youth Depression, under the direction of Dr. John R. Z. Abela, focuses its research on identifying the factors that render certain individuals vulnerable to developing depression following negative events. While the main focus of the Institute’s research is upon studying vulnerability to depression across age groups, its particular interest is in studying vulnerability and risk processes in children and adolescents.
