The mission of the Facility for Electron Microscopy Research is to promote and advance the science and practice of all microscopic imaging, analysis and diffraction techniques useful for elucidating the ultrastructure and function of diverse materials. The Facility supports the research activities and training of investigators in the areas of biological, medical, materials and physical sciences by providing innovative and state-of-the-art instrumentation (transmission and scanning electron microscopes, confocal microscopes, atomic force microscopes, and focused ion beam milling system), a modern infrastructure, and multidisciplinary access to skilled personnel.
