The Sheldon Biotechnology Centre was established in 1989 to provide core services for biological and biomedical researchers at McGill University and in the Montreal area. The facility is housed in 2,000 square feet of renovated space located in the Field house of the Lyman Duff Medical Building. Four laboratories were established to provide synthetic oligonucleotides, DNA sequencing, synthetic peptides and protein microsequencing.
