Heirs to ancient cultures and traditions that are rich, complex and too little known in the West, East Asian societies are among the most dynamic and rapidly developing in the world today and are having an increasing impact on the international scene, both economically and politically. The study of the languages and cultures of East Asia offers the student an intellectually challenging and personally stimulating educational experience.
