Training Future Policy Makers

The IHSP also offers an Internship Program that provides students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines with an opportunity to become a part of the Institute’s research initiatives. IHSP interns have worked on projects ranging from addressing working conditions in multinational companies in China to the international effort to eliminate child labour to global trends in gender-related educational inequalities. Interns work closely with Institute staff, receive training in research and policy analysis and become active members of the Institute team.

In 2010, IHSP launched the McBurney Latin America Fellowship Program, a new initiative focused on the delivery of much needed health and social services in poor and marginalized communities in Latin America. The McBurney Fellowship Program is a unique opportunity for outstanding graduate students or advanced undergraduate students in any Faculty to serve with programs that are improving the health and social conditions faced by poor and marginalized populations in Latin America.
