Posting to a List
Most lists at McGill are, by default, configured so that only subscribers can post messages. Once subscribed, e-mail posting are sent to the Humanistic Studies ListServ.
Temporarily Suspending E-Mail
To temporarily suspend delivery of messages, send an e-mail (with a blank subject line) to listserv [at] lists.mcgill.ca containing the following text command:
set humanistic nomail
To resume delivery of messages from a list, send an e-mail (with a blank subject line) to listserv [at] lists.mcgill.ca containing the following text command:
set humanistic mail
Unsubscribing from a List
To unsubscribe from a list, send an e-mail (with a blank subject line) to listserv [at] lists.mcgill.ca containing the following text command:
signoff humanistic
The e-mail request to signoff a list must be the same address as the subscription. If for some reason this address is not the same, subscribers will need to contact the list owner.
Requesting a Reference Card
To request a reference card containing a description of LISTSERV command, send an e-mail (with a blank subject line) to listserv [at] lists.mcgill.ca containing the following text command:
info refcard
