Holidays with pay
The statutory holiday schedules posted to this page apply to non-academic, non-unionized administrative staff in positions classified as "M" and in positions excluded from the MUNACA bargaining unit. Select the desired year on the left side menu.
Unionized staff in the MUNACA bargaining unit, and all Trades and Services staff, should check their respective collective agreements for schedules.
Statutory holidays – 2013

Christmas/New Year’s holidays 2013-2014
During the Christmas period, the paid holidays will be from December 25, 2013 to Thursday, January 2, 2014 inclusive (10th Summer Friday).
a) The first 9 Summer Fridays will be taken on the following dates:
- June 21
- June 28
- July 5
- July 12
- July 19
- July 26
- August 2
- August 9
- August 16
b) The conditions covering the summer Fridays are as follows:
i) Where the work of the department requires the attendance of some staff on that day, staff can be obliged to work, but an additional day off should be given. Preferably, this should be granted on the Monday.
ii) Where staff members' vacation includes the summer Fridays, the entire day will be excluded in calculating the number of vacation days taken.
iii) When it is necessary to work on a Summer Friday morning because of essential services, compensating time off or overtime pay on a straight time basis should be arranged. When it is necessary to work on a summer Friday afternoon because of essential services, compensating time off on a straight time basis, or overtime pay on a time-and-one-half basis, should be granted.
