Job Summary: 
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, performs technical duties comprising the installation, maintenance, calibration, repair, modification, and configuration of electronic, electrical and computerized devices, equipment and instruments. Acts as resource person. Diagnoses and resolves problems within area of expertise. Maintains records.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Maintains, modifies and repairs electronic, electrical and computerized equipment and instruments. Tests equipment and software. Diagnoses and resolves problems within area of expertise. Coordinates services requiring the intervention of external organizations.

2. Assembles and installs equipment, cables and circuits, including connections, calibration and configuration as necessary.

3. Acts as resource person, resolves problems and instructs others. Provides technical guidance and assistance concerning work methods, the use of equipment and techniques, and the analysis of results.

4. Maintains inventory. Recommends and purchases equipment and materials. Ensures cleanliness of work area.

5. Maintains records and prepares documentation related to activities of the unit.

6. Keeps abreast of new developments in the field to update skills and knowledge.

7. Uses a variety of equipment such as a datascope, voltmeter, digital oscilloscope, digital multimeter, frequency counter, time domain reflectometer as well as a variety of hand tools.

Education and Experience: 
DEC III (Electronics Technology or Computer Science Technology)
