Bring A Child To Work Day

McGILL’s BRING A CHILD TO WORK DAY 2013

On Friday, May 10th, 2013, McGill will hold its first “Bring A Child to Work Day.” 

This one-day event will provide an opportunity for children of the McGill community, ages 8-15, to visit both our campuses, explore interests and career possibilities by participating in activities and becoming familiar with what parents, relatives and/or friends do at McGill. The day will feature learning sessions by departments and units across our campuses, as well as a variety of "drop in" alternative activities.

Pre-registration is required and will be open on this site, April 2 through April 26:
Sessions fill quickly, so please make your plans and be ready to register first thing on April 2 if possible.

Tentative Schedule for Friday, May 10:
Check–in/pick up backpack: 8:00 – 9:30 a.m.
     Downtown: Service Point (3415 McTavish St., Corner Sherbrooke)
     Macdonald: Foyer of Macdonald-Stewart complex
Session I: 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. 
Session II: 11:00 a.m. - 12 noon 
Bring your own lunch: 12 noon – 1:30 p.m.
     Downtown: lower field, with live music and dance presentation
     Macdonald: Link Café
Session III: 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Visit adult’s workplace (obtain supervisor’s permission in advance) or choose alternate activity: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. 

(Note that the activities offered at Macdonald campus will have a slightly different timing)

Please note:
Participants will be engaged in many hands-on activities and walking from building to building throughout the day. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes in order to best enjoy this event!

There will be a photographer on-site to take pictures for potential use in campus publications. In the event that you do not wish to have your or your child’s photo taken, please inform the photographer.
