M compensation framework
The M compensation structure was created in 2002, following the pay equity exercise of 2001. It was designed to provide a framework in which McGill can attract, retain and motivate competent professional and managerial staff.
Building on the role profiles, sorted by job family and sub-families, developed for the pay equity study, and using the evaluation points attributed to each role profile by the University's pay equity committee, a salary structure was developed using grades and levels. It was first implemented in December 2002.
