Call for Nominations - Academic Staff Representative
Nominations are now being called in order to fill the position of Academic Staff Representative on the Pension Administration Committee. The position is a three-year term commencing immediately following the Annual Meeting being held on May 1st, 2015. At present, the Academic Staff Representatives are Professor Christopher Ragan whose term will continue until May 2016 and Professor Julia Scott who was appointed by the Committee in December 2014 and whose term will end on May 1st, 2015.
Nominations may be submitted or endorsed by active and retired academic staff of the University who were members on the Plan as at December 31, 2014. Nominations require the consent of the person being nominated. Nominees are invited to submit a short résumé (maximum 200 words) outlining their qualifications for service on the Committee.
The official nomination form must be used for any nomination. All fully-completed nominations must be submitted to Human Resources – Pensions & Benefits no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20th, 2015 in order to be eligible. Following the close of nominations, members will be advised of the names of the nominees and will be provided with a copy of the résumés submitted by the nominees. A ballot/proxy solicitation will be conducted to record the vote of those members who are unable to attend the Annual Meeting. As agreed by majority vote of the members, each active member will be entitled to cast one vote for each full dollar of personal holdings in the Plan as of December 31, 2014, and each retired member will be entitled to cast nine votes for each full dollar of annual pension in the course of payment as of that date.
