LDP Core Program - EQ: Leading in a Changing Culture

Duration: 1 days
Cost: $0
Course objectives:
What does it take to navigate the social complexities of life and work successfully? Which critical skills are needed for us to lead effectively in times of change?

Research indicates that, while IQ and technical skills are critical to job performance, emotional intelligence is the principal strength that profoundly influences leadership capacity, team dynamics, employee engagement, job satisfaction, wellbeing and overall happiness.
What exactly is emotional intelligence? In broad terms, emotional intelligence is a unique set of competencies that help us develop our self-management and relational skills. These abilities are essential to leadership success as they influence how effectively we:

- manage our emotions
- handle stress and deal with conflict
- adapt to change
- communicate and give feedback
- relate to others
- motivate and inspire our team

Using a blend of theory, experiential activities and discussions, this one-day workshop
will explore:

• What emotional intelligence (EQ) is
• The importance of self-awareness and emotional management skills
• How EQ competencies impact leadership, performance, interpersonal skills, organizational culture and overall success
• Which EQ strengths will help you deal with change effectively
• Key strategies and practical tools for you to immediately start increasing your EQ
