Unit Financial Control
|Target population:||Administrative personnel with a financial role|
|Managing or participating in the management of funds is a critical and challenging role. The purpose of this workshop is to ensure that financial administrators are aware of the key financial controls recommended to ensure governance is exercised over their unit.
*Definition of internal control;
*Management & financial perspective on internal controls;
*Scope of responsibility;
*Identify the high risk areas and transactions.
*Definition of key control techniques in monitoring and reconciliation
By the end of the course, particpants will be able to...
*Understand the different types of control;
*Realize the importance of segregation of duties;
*Apply the best practices for fund reconciliation;
*Ensure financial controls apply across operating budgets and different transaction streams (revenues & expenditures).
