Course objectives:
Objectives:

To obtain a basic understanding of some of the core student development theories Chickering’s Theory of Identity Development; Perry’s Theory of Intellectual and Ethical Development; Kolb’s Theory of Experiential Learning) and how they apply to the Academic Advising Experience;

To have the opportunity to, through case studies and role plays, use a theory to practice to theory model;
To develop tools and applications in reaching and serving the “ Millenium” Students.

Text: Student Development in College (Evans et al), 2nd Edition.

Recommended advance reading:


Chapters 3 through 6 (inclusive) and Chapter 8.
