Course objectives:
Work objectives are direct links between the work the employee performs, the Faculty / unit / department’s operational objectives and University goals. Defining mutually agreed upon objectives provides clarity in your role and expectations in a given cycle. The essence of S.M.A.R.T. is participative objective setting between the employee and their supervisor / manager. Once the goals within your department / unit are transparent, it is important to develop your Performance Dialogue Plan with Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-based (S.M.A.R.T.) objectives needed to accomplish these goals.

In this session, participants will:

1. Understand and apply the SMART model when writing objectives.

2. Examine and develop a training plan based on competencies and technical skills.
