| All Principle Investigators, Laser Supervisors and Workers (staff/students) must participate in the University's Laser Safety Program Training prior to operating or working in proximity to a Class 3B or Class 4 Laser / Laser System. The Laser Safety course will cover the following topics: Laser basics, laser hazards and bioeffects, classification of laser systems, control measures, laser safety program elements, medical surveillance, non-beam hazards, laser safety standards, emergency procedures and accident reporting. At the end of the training, participants must successfully complete an exam to receive certification. |
